FURTWANGLER 9. Symphony BEETHOVEN 1stPress 1950s HMV 2LP Box WALP 1286/87 MINT
9 in D minor, op. 125 --- the legendary 1951 Bayreuth festival recording! Rare German first press vinyl 2LP box set released in the 1950s on red/gold ELECTROLA / HIS MASTER'S VOICE label with catalognumber WALP 1286 and WALP 1287. Fantastic 1950s pressings with the following matrixnumbers in the trail-off vinyl. The labels have the triangle on the lower label rim, and there is APPLAUSE at the end of the fourth set. Collectors and audiophiles will know that earlier pressings came with a square on the labels, and applause is heard at the end of the fourth set. Legendary performance by Wilhelm Furtwangler conducting the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra, and a very rare find in this fantastic condition. Best copy I have seen in many years.. Best results if you use a mono cartridge such as e. Ortofon SPU, EMT, Pierre Clement, Koetsu Mono, Miyajima... Please contact me for any questions or special requests.
=> to Non-EU countries incl. (30-40 LPs depending on weight). Note that for b ox set LPs the higher weight of boxes and booklets must be taken into account...
