9 in D minor, op. 125 --- the legendary 1951 Bayreuth festival recording! Rare German first press vinyl 2LP box set released in the 1950s on red/gold ELECTROLA / HIS MASTER'S VOICE label with catalognumber WALP 1286 and WALP 1287. Fantastic 1950s pressings with the following matrixnumbers in the trail-off vinyl. The labels have the triangle [33] on the lower label rim, and there is APPLAUSE at the end of the fourth set. Collectors and audiophiles will know that earlier pressings came with a square [33] on the labels, and applause is heard at the end of the fourth set. Legendary performance by Wilhelm Furtwangler conducting the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra, and a very rare find in this fantastic condition. Best copy I have seen in many years..
